All amounts exclude VAT. A sprint is two weeks with one sprint goal that is certain to be done at the end, plus a prioritised list of goals below it. At the end there is something that works: not a design, not a progress report, but software you can use. What is not done moves to the next sprint; nothing is left half finished. After every sprint you decide whether it continues, and how: another sprint, a different size, or stopping with a working version. That is the whole model. No kick-off fee, no minimum, no annual plan.
And one thing that is not a sprint: a small script that solves a problem is free. Stuck on an export, an integration that gets one field wrong, a migration of a handful of records? We do that in between. On the house.
What decides the size is not the number of screens but four things:
- Does the back end already exist? If there is a system to connect to, that saves a large part. If not, you are building two things.
- Integrations. Every integration is its own piece of work, and the cost sits in the system on the other side: a modern API is a matter of days, a package without one is a sprint.
- The exceptions. Not the happy flow decides the size, but what happens when input is wrong, a payment half fails or two people edit the same thing at once.
- Design. For your own staff, clean and recognisable is enough. If the application is the product, design is its own investment.

Two things that are not a sprint, but do have a fixed price:

Cloud & DevOps scan: €4,000. A 5-day review of your infrastructure, deployments and cloud costs, with a report and a prioritised list of improvements. €8,000 for environments with several clusters or teams. Possibly partly funded through Google Cloud partner programmes.

Managed cloud: from €950 per month, or 10% of your cloud spend if that is higher. Monitoring, alerting, cost control and agreed response times during office hours. 24/7 on-call on request.

Building is the one-off item. Two items keep running afterwards, and they belong separately in every quote:

Hosting per month. The cloud cost of running. Predictable, and usually modest next to the build; how much exactly depends on users and data, and we work that out up front.

Managed cloud per month, optional. Monitoring, alerting, updates and being reachable when something breaks, from €950 a month. Optional, because some organisations do this themselves. Postponing makes maintenance more expensive, not cheaper.

What does an app cost, in sprints?
An app on an existing system is two to three small sprints: €8,000 to €12,000. An app with its own back end three medium sprints: €24,000. Rebuilding an existing app completely three medium to three large: €24,000 to €36,000. Excluding VAT, and adjustable per sprint.
What does a customer portal cost?

From €8,000: two small sprints of €4,000. After four weeks you have a portal where customers log in and see their own data from one system. Every source or feature added is a sprint added, and you decide on each one.
What does a cloud migration cost?

One application to the cloud €4,000 to €16,000: one or two sprints. A landing zone with the first applications on it is two to three medium sprints, €16,000 to €24,000. A complete platform is a series of large sprints you steer per application. See cloud consultancy for managed cloud and the scan.
Can you give a fixed price?

Per sprint, yes: €4,000, €8,000 or €12,000, depending on the size. For a whole project up front we advise against it, and not because it suits us badly: a fixed price locks the scope at the moment you know least about it. Steering per sprint gets you more. If you want a ceiling anyway, we agree a maximum number of sprints.
What if it is not finished after the first sprint?

The sprint goal is done: that is the agreement. Whatever else was on the list and did not fit moves to the next sprint. You see what is there and decide for yourself whether that next sprint is worth it. With us a project stops with a working version, not half of one.
Is a small script really free?

Yes. An export that needs to be slightly different, an integration that gets one field wrong, migrating a handful of records: we fix that in between and do not send an invoice. If it grows beyond an afternoon we say so up front and it becomes a small sprint of €4,000.
Do the amounts include VAT?

No, they exclude it. We work for businesses and public bodies, which calculate without VAT. Hosting and managed cloud are separate monthly items; they are listed separately in the quote so you can judge them on their own.
Who owns the software and the source code?

You do, from the first sprint. You get the source code and the documentation, so you can place maintenance elsewhere if you want. A supplier who holds on to the code is selling you a subscription instead of software.
